CHAPTER 18: I Did It My Way
The final record released was our version of Adagio.
When I look back at it now, it appears as some unseen hand was guiding me, leading me to the final conclusion. The video is a single fixed shot of a sinking sunset, over which rolls a huge list of imaginary credits, listing everyone in the band and everyone I knew, slowly rolling past to the melancholy track.
It was just like the end of a movie. It was the end of that movie for us.
We limped through a few token shows across Spain and played our final show in Lisbon Portugal. Even that show almost had to be cancelled, as we drove there on that final day thinking we’d arrive too late. Only the fact that Portugal is on English not European time gave us an extra hour and we just made it on to the stage.
